Norma Lee Trego, 91, of Fishers passed away on October 5th, 2017. Norma was born to Alexander and Tillie Stroh on September 3rd, 1926 in Ellinwood, Kansas. Although she grew up during the Great Depression, she received from her parents the great treasures of a strong faith in Christ and a love of family. Her constant care for her family was felt by her mother Tillie, her brother Albert and her sister Dorothy as she played important roles in their care later in life.

She married Clinton E. Trego on September 26th, 1946 in Plevna, Kansas.  As a devoted wife, she helped build their lives after Clinton returned from service in the Army during World War Two. Their first home was in Little River, Kansas and Norma kept it filled with the sweet smells of cinnamon rolls, fried chicken, and other wonderful delicacies that she learned to cook from her mother.

On February 11th,1948 she became a mother, giving birth to her oldest child, Gary. Three years later she gave birth her daughter Jeanie. Although Clinton’s work in the oil-field caused the family to move several times, Norma made each new house a home. She was selfless and faithful in her service to her family and friends. One always felt loved around Norma, which resulted in daily phone calls with both of her children and weekly contact with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout her life.

Norma lost the love of her life and her husband of 64 years, Clinton Trego, on December 3rd, 2010. Today her family and friends celebrate that she has joined him once again in Heaven. We will truly miss her and the way she modeled so beautifully the ability to love. She showed grace that covered our faults, reflecting the love of Christ. Her greatest legacy her faith that is now carried on by her children and their families. She finished the race so well.

Norma is survived by her two children, Gary and Jeanie and their spouses Anne and Bill. She is also survived by many loving grandchildren Geren, Heather, Brian, Brad, Leanne, Ryan and Brett; as well as great-grandchildren – Dillon, Cody, Elizabeth, Andrew, Brandt, Sadie, Riley, Ansley, Kennedy, Blakely and Brecken.

Norma was the most lovely neighbor. I will miss her darling face and kind spirit. She was very sweet and my little dog, Jojo, just loved visiting with her as she sat in her garage. As we went for our walk this morning, my heart ached knowing she was no longer there, but I rejoice as she is now in Heaven. I am very sorry for your loss….I have no doubt Norma will be missed greatly by those who loved her.

Norma was a dear friend and I will miss her in so many ways. We both lost our husbands several years ago and we understood how difficult it is to lose your life partner. We had many conversation about our lives, families, and our Lord. My last conversation with her was about how she was ready to go and be with the Lord. She was looking forward to going down to Atlanta to visit her son, Gary and we talked about our families and grandchildren and what a blessing they have been in our lives. Norma was a very sweet and loving person who reached out to everyone and was greatly loved by all who knew her. I will miss her and the special friendship we shared. I trust the Lord and his timing and I know she is now with her dear husband Clint and our precious Lord. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. My heart goes out to her family and I know your hearts are aching in your loss. God bless you and comfort you during this difficult time.
